Why I'm Running:
Our federal government is dysfunctional. Now, more than ever, we have to rely on our local government to invest in our priorities, ensure equal opportunity, and get things done. That’s why I’m running.
After a career in law, policy, and activism, I believe I can make the most difference now by serving on the front lines of local government.
I have broad range of experience. I’ve worked at all levels of government – at the IRS as a tax lawyer, in Annapolis as a legislative aide, and as Chief of Staff at the County Council. I’ve spent a good portion of my career working with nonprofits and advocating for women and families. As Chair of the Board of our local Planned Parenthood, President of the Montgomery CountyCommission for Women, Senior Counsel at the National Women’s Law Center, and Co-Chair of the legislative task force of a 1,400-member coalition whose shared missions are to protect vulnerable populations, I’ve collaborated with diverse stakeholders to reach consensus and find solutions. That’s the type of leadership I’ll bring to the County Council.
